Introduction
Learn what FluidVoice is, how its two layers work together, and what you can do with it.
Quick Start
Install FluidVoice, grant permissions, pick a model, and start dictating in under five minutes.
Speech Models
Compare Nemotron, Parakeet, Cohere, Apple Speech, and Whisper to find the right fit for your language and latency needs.
Local API
Integrate FluidVoice into your own tools with the built-in Local API — no cloud required.
1
Install FluidVoice
Run
brew install --cask fluidvoice in Terminal, or download the latest release from GitHub. The app is free and requires no account.2
Grant permissions
Allow microphone access so FluidVoice can hear you, and grant accessibility permissions so it can type into any app on your Mac.
3
Choose a model and set your hotkey
Pick a speech model during onboarding — start with Apple Speech for zero-download convenience or Parakeet TDT v3 for fast multilingual support. Then assign a global hotkey in Settings so you can trigger voice capture from any app.
4
Start dictating
Press your hotkey, speak, and release. Your words land directly in whatever text field is focused — no copy-paste required.
